The Senator Gershom Bassey Campaign Organisation has condemn media reports on a confidential meeting in Abuja in which Senator Bassey, Senator Sandy Onor, Gov Nyesom Wike, former governors Donald Duke and Liyel Imoke amongst others were said to be part of.
In a press statement titled, ‘Confidentiality and Politics,’ the Director General (South) of the campaign organisation, Barrister Ekpo Ada, said such reports were designed to cast aspersions on Senator Bassey’s integrity.
Pillar Today reproduces the statement as sent to our newsroom:
CONFIDENTIALITY AND POLITICS*
Our attention has been drawn to media stories making the rounds regarding a purported meeting in Abuja with HE Gov Wike.
Clearly, these stories are designed to compromise our principal and cast aspertions on his integrity. Consequently, we condem this skullduggery in it’s entirity.
Private political meetings are not new in reality, indeed they are the life blood of political processes. And historically, the ability to agree, disagree and reconcile comes with the turf.
And we cannot over emphasis the confidential and sometimes secret nature of these interactions. Indeed our campaign organization fully respects and understands this and would never leak confidential information .
Going forward, we will continue to participate in efforts aimed at uniting our political party to present a formidable team at the 2023 elections, in order to defeat the anomaly that is APC in our dear state .

Barrister Ekpo A. Ada ( DG South ) – SEN GERSHOM BASSEY CAMPAIGN ORGANISATION .
