Ground Breaking: Apostolic Church Assures of More Expansion

The Apostolic Church, Nigeria, Calabar Field, has continued to grow and expand with the recent groundbreaking or foundation stone laying ceremony of one of its Churches at Esam Abasi Assembly, Ikot Abasi Obori District in Ikot Efa Area.

The Assembly, which has since existed on temporary building for decades, can now hope of a standard edifice as the field council officials led by the Field Secretary, Pst. Ekpe Offiong, on behalf of the field superintendent, Pst. Dominic Efànga, were on hand to put the stones together.

At the event, which attracted Apostolic faithfuls and dignitaries across the field including the Ikot Efa area superintendent, Pst. P.L Igbaji, and a council prophet, P st.B. E. Ndon, the field superintendent, who spoke through the assistant secretary, Pst. Effanga Etim, acknowledged God as the owner and builder of His church.

Reading from 1 Corinthian 3 v11-12 , Pst. Efanga emphasized that Christ is the only foundation of the church since he used his life as à sure foundation. He called for unity of purpose and love among Christians in the assembly and beyond.

The field superintendent also admonished that for the edifice to stand the taste of time and be fruitful, members have to be steadfast with generosity in giving without grumbling.

While performing the ground breaking, the field secretary, Pst. Ekpe Offiong, appreciated God for the church development and growth, describing the event as church expansion and God’s vision to bless his people.

The district pastor of Ikot Abasi Obori district, Pst. Monday Akpan, in his reaction, thanked God for the success, development and growth of the assembly and the entire district during his time.

Pastor Akpan, assured that with God on his side, couple with prayer as well as financial commitment of the church, the church building will commence in earnest and would come to conclusive end by the grace of God.

Members of Esam Abasi and of course the entire district of Ikot Abasi Obori district, were seen at the occasion jubilating, thanking God, singing songs, greeting and embracing one another and appreciating the field council for honouring their invitations and their efforts at building for the Lord
