The Chairman/CEO of Bengies Group of Companies/Ben Akak Foundation, Engr. Ben Akak, has consoled with the Bishop of Calabar Archdiocese of the Catholic Church, the Ukpo’s family, and other Catholic faithfuls on the death of Archbishop Emeritus of Calabar Archdiocese, Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Edrah Ukpo.

In a statement signed by Ekpenyong Isaiah on his behalf, Engr. Akak said, “It is on this note I will say, the world has lost an extraordinary Man, the world has lost an exemplary clergy”.

Consoling the faithfuls and family of the deceased, Otuekong of Ukwa Eburutu said that the death of Archbishop Emeritus, Edrah Ukpo though very painful,  reminds us all of the mortality of man and the fact that the saints may have been marching on.

In his words, “the news of the passing of this extraordinary man and clergy has left us in great sorrow, most especially, some of us that had personal relationships with him and his family. However, we must all be consoled by the fact that those we love don’t go; they walk by our sides every day, unseen and unheard, but never far away, still cherished and missed.

“His Grace was and is still legend. CAN Cross River State is what it is today because of his devotion and extreme charismatic leadership style.

“Within and outside our State, Archbishop Ukpo was an Iroko, a trailblazer, and community leader which makes his demise too deep and too personal to some of us”.

Adieu Archbishop Emeritus, Most Rev. Ukpo! Rest on till the resurrection morning!!
