The candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for Bakassi State Constituency in the March 11, Cross River State House of Assembly election, Comrade Emmanuel Okokon Asuquo, has vowed to display a great sense of commitment to every matter concerning his people if he wins the election.

Comrade Asuquo, in a press release made available to our reporter, Thursday, said he would redefine represention and give Bakassi people reasons to be happy.

He noted that his desire to represent his people was borne out of an inert love, commitment and determination to add meaning to their lives, some of whom were displaced from their ancestral homes in the Bakassi peninsula.

“As we snowball into 2023; It is with renewed hope and total commitment to the Bakassi course that I seek your sacred mandate to represent the interest of the Displaced People of Bakassi in Cross River State House of Assembly under the Social Democratic Party.

“2023 election will test our collective destiny, will and resolution as a people to be effectively represented in the State House of Assembly,” he stated, and vowed to reach out to all Bakassi people soon to expound his mission statement.

While wishing Bakassi people a prosperous New Year, Comrade Asuquo believed that with enhanced representation which he would offer in the House of Assembly, the Displaced Bakassi people in particular would have a new sense of hope even as he would create a platform for all Bakassians to relate as people of the same stock.

He called on his people to cast their votes for the SDP so as to change for the better the chequered socio-economic narratives Nigerians are faced with.
