Few days to the By-elections in Yala/Ogoja and Akpabuyo, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross Rivers state, Barr Alohonsus Eba, has declared Gov Nyesom Wike of Rivers State a security risk and therefore barred him from setting his feet on any part of the State.
In a press conference in Calabar, Tuesday, the APC Chairman said the security of the Rivers State governor would no longer be guaranteed in Cross River for allegedly meddling in the political affairs of the State.
He said, “We had warned him in the past and we are hereby saying enough is enough. He came to Cross River State last Saturday in what would have been the return of Armegeddon. He came to incite violence but it took the maturity of our Governor to calm nerves. Cross Riverians will no longer allow him to cross the lines of political decency.
“Whatever is the madness in him that keeps pushing him into Cross River state, I want to say again that enough is enough.
“I am using this opportunity to appeal to and inform the Inspector General of Police, Chief of Army Staff, the Director General of the State Security Service, and all relevant heads of security agencies that Gov Nyesom Wike is from this day declared a security risk and threat to the peace of Cross River State, and must keep off from our State.
“Cross Riverians shall henceforth resist his coming and shall not tolerate any further provocation and intimidation.
“We are opened to decent politics and will allow the opposition to play their games in a decent manner but we shall not tolerate any attempt of further intimidations.
“As I speak, over 1000 cultists, criminals and sorcerers have been brought into Cross River state in the guise of a flag off, and today, they are being camped in various hotels to be moved into Ogoja/Yala. I appeal to security agencies not to allow themselves to be used.”
The party Chairman also showed journalists a document purported to indicate break down of funds allegedly released by a siting PDP Senator to be spent during the by-elections and called on security agencies to launch an investigation.
“In this gathering, I will present to you a proof of the budget of Two Hundred and something million Naira which was given by one of the Senators for the by-election. It is already in the public domain. I call on the DSS to investigate this.
“Every security agent that wants to do his work knows the source of that information and we want it to be out for the world to see. It is time for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to swing into action because this people are destroying our political system,” he stated.
Asked on what the party would do if Gov Wike defies the warning, Barr Eba said “in fact, I do not know what shall happened but first I will follow this warning up with a petition to the IGP, the DG of SSS and all relevant security agencies.
“We will also write to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the President of the Senate, and all elders in Cross River and indeed South South to warn this man
