An Appeal court sitting in Abuja today dismissed an appeal filed by Rt. Hon Michael Enyong urging the court to stay proceedings in the appeal brought by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against the judgment of the lower court.

The suit also challenged the decision of the court to summon him by substituted service.

It would be recalled that efforts to serve Enyong a motion on the appeal by the PDP had been futile as the Uyo Federal Constituency Lawmaker evaded service, this prompted the appeal Court to direct the bailiff to serve him through substituted service by pasting the service on his office door at the National Assembly and at the door of his residence in Abuja.

With Judgement reserved on the appeal by the PDP, Enyong in a panic move, rushed to the appeal court and filed an appeal against his being summoned.

The case by Enyong, Suit Number CA/Abj/PRE/ROA/CU/134/2023, sought to urge the court the stay proceeding on the appeal filed by the PDP.

When the case came up for hearing this morning, the court frowned at the appeal describing it as frivolous and a waste of Judicial time and struck it out.
