Honourable Odi Omagu, an All Progressives Congress, APC, leader has lauded Senator Stephen Odey, Chairman of Cross River State Universal Basic Education for achieving excellent victory for the party during the 2023 elections.
Hon Omagu said the massive harvest of votes from Yache Ward where Dr Stephen Odey is the leader shows that he is not just an asset but a blessing to the APC and should be honoured across the state and beyond.
He said the recent Victory Party by Dr Odey at Aliforkpa where his house in Yache became a Mecca by hosting all classes of people shows that he is a veritable factor in enhancing victory and success for the APC in the state.
“People from all walks of life cutting across the political class, business magnets, academics and most importantly the mass of the people who thronged the home of Dr Stephen Odey last Thursday shows that he is a man of the people”
He said the awards Dr Odey gave to the different polling units which stood out during the election and some leaders is a rare demonstration of commitment to the growth of the party which should be emulated by other political leaders.
” He did empowerment for the less privileged and some party loyalists from other wards and Local Government Areas benefitted from Dr Odeys milk of love and kibdness.
Hon Omagu said Dr Odey in his constant expression of appreciation and gratitude asked the party faithful to always thank Senator Professor Ben Ayade Ayade for remembering Yache, always and for fulfilling his promise to construct the Okpoku Bridge on which work has reached 80%.completion.
Omagu said what stands Dr Odey out is his capacity to engender love, goodwill,credibility, loyalty and such a personality deserves to be a key player at the state and national level to keep reaching out and mobilising more people for the growth and strengthening of the APC.
“Over five musicians featured at the Victory Party and the state Chairman of our party, Barrister Alphonsus Eba was on hand to stamp his authority on the successes achieved by Dr Odey during the election which is a show of respect and honour on his effort and sacrifice.
He said Dr Odey”s advice to his teeming supporters to rally behind the incoming governor, Senator Prince Bassey Otu since he is a replication of Ayade and the best choice for cross River state is commendable.
Omagu called for continued unity and loyalty to the leadership by party members and to work relentlessly towards attaining higher heights and victory in the coming local government election and beyound.
