Groups and individuals are daily expressing readiness to work for and with the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Cross River state, Sen Prince Bassey Otu.
Our reporter, who monitored activities of the man his people call ‘Sweet Prince,’ said those who met with Prince Otu within the week after his arrival from Abuja, all pledged their support even as the candidate also received branded campaign vehicle donated by a supporter as well as printed materials for campaign.
First to express its avowed readiness to ensure the Senator emerged victorious in next year’s governorship race, was a leading political organisation from the Central, The Ugep Solidarity Front.
Barr.(Chief)Utum Eteng, who led the group to the Campaign Headquarters of the Governorship Candidate, in his remarks, said the group was in the secretariat to pledge their loyalty to the Prince Bassey Otu project, adding “we are committed to mobilise support across the Yakurr nation and beyond.”
The group also presented Chairs, tables and other campaign material to Senator Otu.
Responding, the candidate lauded the gesture and assured the group of all-inclusive administration in 2023, saying all Cross Riverians should expect another level of peace and prosperity when he takes over.
Team Ma Adiaha Solidarity Organization was also on ground to show solidarity even as Senator Otu commissioned the group’s campaign office.
The Director General of the organization, Mrs. Uduak Spencer Efem, in her remarks, said, the Organization was established to drive and mobilize support for Senator Otu’s campaign across the State.
Also, in a rare display of solidarity, a supporter, Mr. Emmanuel Edet, donated a branded Toyota Camry (Spider) vehicle to the APC Flag Bearer.
Presenting the vehicle to Sen. Otu, Mr Edet said it was his own way of supporting Sweet Prince’s ambition, and that the vehicle would aid movement of the campaign team.
According to him, the gesture was born out of Sen. Prince Otu’s genuine love for all Cross Riverians, maintaining that the APC gubernatorial candidate will make a great governor.
Responding, Sen. Otu, who received the car gift personally, said he was overwhelmed by the show of love and support all over the state, assuring that the people and state will experience sweetness when he emerges victorious come 2023.
Sen. Bassey Otu, who enjoys massive followership across the state, is highly tipped to emerge winner at the forthcoming 2023 governorship polls.
