As the race for the Peregrino Government House gathers momentum, a frontline aspirant in the All Progressives Congress, APC, and former Senator, Prince Bassey Otu, has said he was coming with a vision of new and prosperous Cross River.
Prince Otu, who represented Southern Senatorial District of Cross River State, said this in Calabar, Wednesday, while declaring his intention before the APC leadership to throw his hat into the governorship race, come early next year.
The one-time Senate Committee chairman on Finance said the people of the state should expect peace, progress and prosperity.
According to him, he had already carried out a research on the state socio-economic positions and came up with 13 thematic areas which would take care of every challenge the state is facing.
“Cross River people should expect peace, progress and prosperity as I bring a vision of prosperity to the state. They should expect a different Cross River, a brand new state where people will be happy.
“We have 13 thematic areas which takes care of every challenge we are facing today. We went on a very serious and rigorous research to find dependable data that will see us through so it includes every facet of our live,” Senator Otu said.
He said his administration would ensure youths and women play significant roles and that he would ensure sports is developed to the point that youths across the state would earn foreign currency from it.
Prince Otu promised to revive and expand tourism to embrace medical tourism as well as ensure plantations are established in all local government areas where women and children will be engaged.
