C’River North: Imoke, Mammoth Crowd Join Senator Jarigbe in Thanksgiving.

Former Governor Liyel Imoke and indeed thousands of worshippers joined Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe in thanking God for the success of the Ogoja-born Senator in the tubulent Cross River North senatorial contest.
The Thanksgiving service, which took place in St Benedict’s Catholic Cathedral, Ikoli Ogoja, Sunday, was officiated by the Most Rev Donatus Edet Akpan, assisted by other clergies. 
Also in attendance were top politicians across the country including Senators Sandy Onor, Gershom Bassey,  Obinna Ogba of Ebonyi Central, House of Representatives members, House of Assembly members, as well as businessmen and academicians.
Speaking, Bishop Akpan said the Mammoth crowd the event was seeing was a proof that “success is a father of many children,” and lauded the Senator for remembering to thank God for the success in the senatorial race.
“Senator Jarigbe is thanking God for the victory in the senatorial race and his successful swearing in as Senator of the federal Republic of Nigeria. God increases and honour those who have reasons to thank God,” the clergyman said.
Very Rev Akpan also commended the new Senator for always standing by the Church at all times, and therefore presented ‘Thank You Award’ to Jarigbe amidst applause from worshippers and the Senator’s teeming supporters.
In his remarks, former Governor Liyel Imoke said “Nothing would have been achieve without God. With this victory, God has used Senator Jarigbe to liberate the people of Cross River North. This is a Thanksgiving for liberation.
Senator Jarigbe, who also spoke, described the victory the act of God, explaining that he stood against the powers and treasury of the State.
“What cannot do does not exist. I have become the first Senator to represent Ogoja because God took over the battle,” he stated, and encouraged the youths to believe in themselves for the fulfilment of there destinies.
Senator Sandy Onor, in his remarks,described Jarigbe as a man of character, saying that God uses the new Senator as a weapon of war to “break the jinx that as old as Ogoja has been, it must not produce a Senator.”
