C/River: Christian Group Adopts SDP House Of Assembly Candidate for Calabar Municipality

A group of religious leaders in Cross River State, operating under auspices of Royal Eagle in Flight International Outreach Nigeria a.k.a Church Blessings, has adopted Pastor Francis Effanga Edet, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, for Calabar Municipality State Constituency in Saturday’s House of Assembly election.

Speaking during Francis’ adoption at the Apostolic Church of Nigeria, District Headquarters, Ikot Ansa Four miles Calabar Municipality, the Officiating Minister of the prayer session, Chaplain Utibe Williams said with Pastor Francis, residents  of Calabar Municipal would be at peace.

He stressed that Effanga was the only man with capacity and good heart to legislate on laws that if implemented could turn around the fortunes of the constituency.

In his remàrks shortly after the adoption, Pastor Effanga thanked the Christian leaders for the confidence reposed in him and promised to provide effective representation for the people of the Constituency once he is elected.

Effanga said with him in tbe chamber of the State House of Assembly, poverty would become a thing of the past, stressing that one of his master plans is to engaged other law makers to formulate laws that would better the lots of tbe common man.

He said he is still in the House of Assembly race despite rumours making the rounds in some quarters that he had stepped down from the contest .

“It’s high time we changed the narratives, with my presence in the chambers, lawlessness and poverty among youths of the Constituency would become a thing of the past.

“Let me use this privilege to debunk all the rumours making the rounds in certain quarters that I have thrown in the towel. It is a lie from the pit of hell.

“Am still in the contest. This is a lie from my opposition who are so afraid of me being in the contest. Am still in the race,” the SDP candidate maintained.
