The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ben Akak Foundation Engr. Ben Akak has promised to make the Ukwa Ibom Efik Eburutu day celebration of international standard.
Akak who is one of the leading gubernatorial contenders on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023, said this in his felicitation to the people of Ukwa Eburutu on the occasion of the 2022 Ukwa Eburutu Day Celebration, an event celebrated on every April 12.
Akak said he is happy that the event that started decades ago as a community celebration has grown to become a cultural festival that is attracting guests from near and wide.
In this regards, he promised that “the Ben Akak Foundation is finalizing plans on how to bring in strategic partners that will come in and remodel the event to give it a flare that will attract investors into the community to make the celebration a money-spinning festival for the community, Odukpani Local Government Area and Cross River State”.
While rejoicing with the Ukwa Eburutu people, Akak a son of the soil, said the celebration of Ukwa Eburutu Carnival of victory “has more spiritual significance as it is a celebration of the love and mercies of God over the Ukwa Eburutu people and the divine victory granted the community over her enemies some decades ago”
While thanking the 2022 organizers of the event and dignitaries that came to grace the occasion, Akak admonished the Ukwa Eburutu people to be more united as it is in unity that they will continue to defeat her enemies at all times.
He expressed regrets that he could not physically attend this year’s celebration as a result of his unavoidable engagements outside the state, but promised to make himself available in subsequent celebrations.
