Senators Victor Ndoma-Egba, SAN and Kanu Agabi, SAN and 13 others have been honoured with the Papal honours for Ogoja Diocese by the Holy Father, Pope Francis.
The Catholic Diocese of Ogoja announced this in a statement dated May 11 saying “as part of the activities marking the centenary of Faith celebration of our diocese, we had petitioned the Holy See for honours on some of our priests, brothers, and sisters”.
The Diocese said, “the Holy Father, Pope Francis, has graciously approved our request and extended the Papal Honours of Chaplain of His Holiness, the Knighthood of St. Gregory the Great (KSG) and the Knighthood of St. Sylvester, the Pope (KSS) as well as Papal Medals”
Commenting on the honour, Ndoma-Egba said, “it is a call by the church for more service and sacrifice. It is a further call to be more exemplary. For me it is the ultimate recognition for my modest contributions to God,s kingdom on earth and it is most humbling”.
