The Executive Chairman of Esit Eket Local Government Council (LGC), Hon. Iniobong Robson has condemned in entirety the January 9 murder of two Ekid sons at a private company along Eket/Ibeno road.
The two armless sons of Ekid were employed as Security Guards to guard Suffolk Yard along Eket/Ibeno road.
Reacting to the tragic incident, the Esit Eket Chairman who also doubles as the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in a statement dated January 30 and signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Comrade Unwana Assam expressed sadness over the incident.
He said, “it’s unfortunate that this happens to us as a people in a time everyone prays and craves peace in our dear state as championed by his Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel. I’m very distressed at the manner of death visited on these two helpless citizens of Ekid Nation who were at their place of work for a legitimate hustle to earn a living”.
Equally, the council boss expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and Eket Council authority while calling on the security agencies to investigate the killing, apprehend the perpetrators of the heinous act and bring them to book to serve as a deterrent to a future occurrence.
