Cameroon Forces Sack Pro Biafra Rebels In Abana, Bakassi

Cameroon’s Rapid d’intervention Battalions (BIR) has dislodged the pro Biafra militant group that had control of Abana, the former headquarters of Bakassi Peninsular in the Gulf of Guidance.

The separatist pro Biafra rebel group, the Black Marine had for over three months held sway at Abana after sacking the Cameroonian military and oil companies that were operating in the area.

Oil firms operating in the Bakassi Peninsula had remained shut down for over three months running due to the activities of the Biafra militants in the Gulf of Guinea

But it was gathered that authorities in Cameroon deployed more troops to Isangele subdivision with reinforcement in Abana yesterday, a town the military were forced to retreat during gunfire with the armed rebel group.

Tension have since increased in the area since the presence of heavy military from the Cameroon.

Details of the attack yesterday by the Cameroonian military were not given but the Operational Coordinator of the Biafra Nations League  (BnL), Henry Edet had urged the Black Marine to retreat in Abana.

Top sources in the Peninsular said Abana is surrounded completely by the troops from Cameroon as they now have the area, the residential quarters of oil companies recaptured and under their control.
