A Biafran militant group, Dragon Fighter Marine has blown an oil pipe in Akwa Ibom state.
Details of the attack was not given but top sources close to the group said that an explosion was heard at about 3pm on Wednesday at Uyenge in Mbo Local Government Area (LGA) of Akwa Ibom State destroying the pipe in the area is near the Bakassi Peninsula.
The militant group is believed to have a base in Mbo LGA and have been carrying occasional deadly attacks on the Cameroon Gendarms .
Dragon Fighter Marine is another dreaded militant group different from the Black Marine, they’re believed to be an armed wing of the Biafra Nations League (BnL), all working with the Finland based separatist Simon Ekpa.
So far owners of the blown pipeline were not identified and no casualty was recorded.
When contacted to comment on this latest incident, the Leader of the BnL, Princewill Chimezie Richards said, “I don’t know, but I believe is part of the effort to get international attention on the quest for Biafra”.
The BnL Leader had few days ago hailed the activities of Dragon Fighter Marine and the Black Marine for the defense of the Eastern end of the Gulf of Guinea in Bakassi Peninsula.
Richards in a press statement said it has been his prayers that strong forces will rise to chase external forces away from the Bakassi Peninsula, the operational base of the BnL.
