Dakkada Football Club have congratulated Rivers United for winning the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title.
In a congratulatory message to the Pride of Rivers, the Chairman of Dakkada, Coach Aniedi Dickson, described Rivers United as the best team in the 2021/2022 NPFL and their feat of winning the title, as thoroughly deserving.
“On behalf of all of us at Dakkada Football Club, I congratulate you (Rivers United) on your thoroughly deserving feat of winning the 2021/2022 NPFL title thereby distinguishing yourselves as the best team in the country,” Mr. Dickson stated.
“That you have won the league with three matches to spare goes to show how hardworking, disciplined and determined you have been all through the season and I urge you all to brace yourselves for the next CAF Champions League season, which is one of the rewards for winning the league, in order to give the country an effectual representation at the continental showpiece,” the retired Permanent Secretary added.
Rivers United, who became champions on matchday 35, without kicking a ball last weekend after Plateau United lost to Akwa United in Uyo to open an unassailable ten-point gulf for United at the summit of the standings.
Rivers United will be home to Kano Pillars when matchday 36 gets underway this weekend while Dakkada will play hosts to Katsina United in Uyo.
