The “Ida Ye Umo Eno Initiative” , a Cross River based political support and socio-cultural group has resolved to mobilise over 0.7million Akwa Ibomites based in Cross River state for a mass exodus or movement of people back home to vote for the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Pastor Umoh Eno come 2023.

The group led by Mr. Samuel Nyong Andrew as the Coordinator with over 20, 000 members, is currently moving from door to door in Cross River state sensitising and mobilising support from the over 700, 000 Akwa Ibom people living in the state  (Cross River) for the 2023 governorship aspiration of Pastor Eno.

Speaking to some newsmen in Calabar at weekend , Nyong said, “as I speak, we have our members from Bakassi to Obanliku cutting across the 18 Local Government Areas of Cross River state talking to the people of Akwa Ibom on the need to go home and vote for Pastor Umo Eno of the PDP”.

He said, “the mobilisation project is expensive and not an easy task but we are determined to do it soliciting for votes for Pastor Umo Eno and bring a new dimension in our politics and democracy”

He stated that “the group decided to declare support for Pastor Umo Eno and  mobilise thousands of people for him considering the fact that of all the governorship candidates in Akwa Ibom, the PDP candidate in the person of Pastor Eno stands out as the best.

“We believe and see him as someone who is capable of carrying on with the laudable projects of Governor Udom Emmanuel and even do more to make Akwa Ibom a destination to be and stand out as the industrial and commercial hub of Nigeria and by extension Africa.

He said the group will not relent in its efforts mobilising Akwa Ibomites to ensure they go home and vote come 2023 and also encourage those who did not register in Akwa Ibom to go home and do so or change their point of registration.
