A Kano-based lubricants company, AMMASCO International Limited, has empowered hundreds of auto-technicians across the country with imported customized tool boxes worth N225 million.
The company, which is in partnership with the Nigeria Automobile Technician Association (NATA) said the gesture was to equip them with latest working tools to make their works easier thereby helping them meet their financial targets.
The marketing head of the company, Abubakar Matazu, made this known in Calabar, Thursday, during the AMMASCO-NATA tools empowerment event, which saw 40 auto technicians in Cross River go home with one tool box each.
“AMMASCO international’s products are the best in the market. Due to the quality of our products, we signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nigeria Automobile Technician Association (NATA) to get the product out to their customers who are the end users.
“For now, we have been able to give out about 1500 customized tool boxes to mechanics in Kano, where we are based, South West, South East and South South States, and today, we are in Calabar. The boxes were imported and are customized. Each costs equivalent of the N150,000.
“With the tool boxes, the mechanics will be able to upgrade himself and professionally handle any matter arising from his work. With this, he can take care of his economic challenges,” he stated.
In an interview, NATA chairman in Cross River, John Ayabie, said six million members of NATA spread across the country were grateful to AMMASCO for the gesture.
He lauded the company for spending such huge amount of money to better the lots of mechanics across the country and added “the tool box is complete. With it, I can handle my jobs without much stress.”
One of the beneficiaries, Augustine Agbaka, who attended the event from Yala, northern Cross River, said his seven hours journey was worthwhile due to the value of the tool box to him. He prayed God to continually increase the company.
