Chief Ogban Ebock

Chief Ogban Ebock has formerly declared to enter the 2023 governorship race in Cross River with a strategic agenda to reposition the state in the world map of tourism.

In a declaration at weekend in Calabar, Ebock said the state has lot of tourism potentials and “some projects that have put Cross River State on the world map of tourism will be reviewed to remove some impediments (legal issues inclusive) that are stalling their functionalities. In this regard, TINAPA, Obudu Cattle Ranch, etc. shall be reassessed and evaluated with the aim to bring back live in them. Details of this vision will be shared in my campaign document.”

He promised to integrate the blueprints of various administrations, starting from 1999 to date to set Cross River State on the path of economic development and ensure the delivery of good governance to the citizenry.

Ebock said “I have watched and assessed all major policy decisions in the State that have resulted to inspire growth and development as each successive regime has a blue print that was intended to be a catalyst for development in our State. These regimes have tried to pursue their dreams with great effort hoping to attain the desired results where our people would be happy.

“There are however, structural problems that have retarded or impeded these noble efforts by previous regimes in the State. Let me state here clearly that I have the right disposition to abridge and consolidate all these blue prints into a perfect policy direction of consolidation that will become my mantra, christened -“The Bridge” – the vision bearer of a new regime in the State under my leadership if I am given the mandate by all of you to harness every available resource to make our State experience greatness as never before.

“Because, this is a short ceremony to brief you about my policy direction, I will only but emphasize on a few issues that will drive passionately the concept of my mantra — ‘The Bridge’ where my vision for the State and her good people will be stated and explained. My regime will consolidate our political, socio-cultural and economic gains made so far. This shall be done through the coordinated efforts of the relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) for the better orientation of our people.”

He said, “my sectoral policy thrust will focus in the areas of Education, Health, Agriculture, Sports and Youth/Women development, Industry and Commerce, Environment and Rural development, New Communication and Information Technology, External linkages to source for partnerships for viable developmental projects, Culture and Tourism, Transportation where our transport infrastructure will be developed for capacity.

Commending the industrialization drive of the Governor Ben Ayade-led administration, Ebock said he would work towards ensuring that all the industries are prepped up for optimum productivity so that Cross Riverians can reap maximum economic benefits from them.
